Day 31 & 32
After more than a week of sitting around, I finally got some riding in. I rode to Whitefish Lake as fellow bikers suggested. Wrong was the assumption of "oh, it's by a lake... Must be flat" Not! The rolling route was gorgeous.
Trouble posting photos. Will share after the trip.
On Thursday I rode to West Glacier and back. The Sun Road is open but bikes were not allowed at the time. Well, I'll be back anyway with the group in a few days.

Day 30
I arrived in Whitefish, MT this morning (@3:30), after a long train ride from Chicago. Thankfully, weather was good. I pulled my bike out of the checked bike box, put the pedal and handlebar back on and rode to the campground through the lit empty streets.
I woke up to find that the three other tenters were all touring cyclists. We did the thing - admired each other's gear, talk about where we are going, and shared tips on the local area. I also inherited a lot of powdered milk.
Finally got myself to ride into town for a proper meal and explore Whitefish a bit. The train station is beautiful in daylight. I met Dale, who was walking there (and did an awesome job photobombing)
We chatted for a long time and watched the oil tankers go by. Apparently they are one of the reasons for the Amtrak delays.
I got good info for the next couple of days. There are fun short rides I can do tomorrow. And now, time to check out the local farmer's market!
